Amalia Diaz's photographs and stories have appeared in printed and online media in publications such as Austin Monthly, Austin Fit Magazine, Reporting Texas, and Austin Woman Magazine, as well as promotional material for non-profits like Austin Animal Center, Emancipet, Friends of Austin Animal Center, and WeViva.
Amalia was a runner-up at the CBRE Urban Photographer of the Year contest in 2014, and a finalist in the Smithsonian Photo contest, 2014 and for six months she was the official photographer of the online project People of ATX for Austin Monthly.
She has participated in art shows like RAW Natural Born Artists ATX 2014, and the East Austin Studio Tour 2013, 2014, and 2016. In 2016 she exhibited her project "Portraits of a Changing Economy" as part of the show "Latinas Artwork Expression" in Austin, Texas. The exhibition of Portraits of a Changing Economy and an interview with Amalia were featured in The Daily Texan in May 2016. Currently, Amalia is a resident artist at The Room Gallery in Austin and is preparing a solo show at the Austin Public Library (Willie Mae Kirk Branch), during the East Austin Studio Tour to be held in November 2017.
